Hi, nice to meet you!
Veronica Minor, MA Ed.
Advocate & Consultant
I’m Veronica, a neurodivergent individual interested in supporting families through the IEP process. I have a master’s degree in education as well as teaching credentials in multiple subject and special education. I started my career as a paraprofessional before jumping into a career as a teacher. I have worked both as a SDC (special day class) and RSP (resource) teacher in the state of California. I have experience working with students from transitional kindergarten through high school. I love collecting data to support students and families. After teaching, I decided that I wanted to support students more by helping families with understanding IEPs.
I started this company as a way to better support my own neurodivergent needs and to really focus on my passion for sharing knowledge and helping others. I view my neurodivergence as a way to better connect with and understand students. I work best when communicating through email, and text. I believe that everyone is different and learning the best ways to support yourself and your loved ones can be life changing! I am always learning and seeking out the most current supports for students.
My main focus areas:
-data analysis
-how areas of need impact overall progress in class
-highlighting and summarizing key details from IEP documents, psycho-educational reports, and other school records
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my pet rabbit, doing crafts, and being in the outdoors. As a late-diagnosed Autistic person I have also been enjoying meeting and collaborating with other Autistic adults. I’m always excited to meet others with similar interests and hobbies.
Helping Families Make Sense of the IEP Process
Our Goal
IEPs already involve so many meetings and potential scheduling conflicts. SPED Unjumbled wants to provide help without the added stress of extra meetings. While meetings are an important part of the IEP process, not everyone learns and processes information best this way. The goal of SPED Unjumbled is to help families understand IEPs so that they can feel confident in the next IEP. We offer services for those with busy schedules, different learning styles, and low income families.
Our values
Community
It’s okay to need or want support from others. Doing everything on your own is overwhelming. Leaning on your community and finding people who care can support everyone. As a teacher and as a neurodivergent individual I have learned that getting support and asking for help can make all the difference. I would not be where I am today if I did not reach out to my community and accept their help.
Honesty
Honesty is important in any relationship . Without honesty how will we build mutual trust during this process. Honest feedback and responses is a great way to learn and grow. We can be honest with others without putting them down or belittling others thoughts, ideas, and feelings.
Compassion
When someone is navigating the unknown, it is important to show compassion and patience. If we need to explain things in a different way, or give someone time to process information we will. As a neurodivergent company, we want to accommodate our clients. We will do our best to help you in the ways that best support you.
Knowledge
Without knowledge, how can we advocate for ourself and others? Knowledge is the foundation of all of our work at SPED Unjumbled. We want you to feel confident walking into IEP meetings and communicating with team members. The best way to gain confidence with IEPs is to understand and have the right toolkit to help you succeed. At SPED Unjumbled we will help you gain knowledge from our experience and background, not through AI. By using our services you can rest easy knowing that you and your child’s data is secure.
Our Process
We all need support sometimes. We make sure that you get it.
